A sweet week

This week was pretty sweet. I do not get many sweets or desserts on weekdays, more a matter of time than of taste In fact there´s no special reason .But, on Thursday  I decide to do something good for me and my family using some ingredients that I had on my pantry and fridge.

I had white chocolate, some pears ( Red Max   Red Barlet) that were stiff to eat but poached  are fantastic and did not want much fuss in the kitchen. So, made a pudding would be nice.

Vanilla white chocolate pudding topped with poached pears

Ingredients:

  • 120 g  white chocolate
  • 220 ml fresh cream
  • 100 ml milk
  • 1 vanilla pod
  • 4 tablespoon sugar cane
  • 3 large eggs
  • 2 pears
  • 1 l water
  • 1 tablespoon cloves
  • 1 cup sugar cane
  • Pistachios  chopped to coat

Method:

In a saucepan bring to boil the cream, milk and sugar together with the seed of vanilla bean.
Remove from heat and,
place the chopped chocolatestir until the chocolate has melted and is well incorporated.
Leave to cooladd eggs and mix well.
Heat oven to 210 ° C
Pour the cream into individual ovenproof dish and bake in water bath for 30 minutes.
Meanwhile cut the pears into quarters and cook with water, sugar and cloves. When they are soft remove from water and cut into squares.
Remove the ramekins from the oven, when they are cold put the poached pears, cut  onto squares and sprinkle with chopped pistachios

.

I also made a peanut butter brownie with chocolate chips on Saturday. By the way, it saved  me, because we received a friend, and had not prepared anything for dessert. I just serve it in an improvised way, as a dessert with a spoonful of dulce de leche on top.

You know things get more interesting and enjoyable here if you add a spoonful of dulce de leche.

The evening was great with lots of good conversation and we ate  we here call a “picada”, an amount of cold cuts and cheese, some cheese with chives, pates, olives and dried fruit. This is actually an appetizer, and normally served  before the main course. We ate only these, and dessert, is good enough,  don't you think?

 Method:

·         Preheat the oven to 190 ° C. Line a 5 cm deep, 18 cm square. cake pan with non-stick baker paper .

Beat eggs with sugar until the mixture is light and fluffy
·

Mix melted butter with peanut butter

Add the egg mixture and continue beating, place the flour gradually with a pinch of salt.

Place the vanilla and mix well and lastly the chocolate chips.
·
Pour the mixture into pan and bake for 20 minutes.

Let cool before removing the form

Sylvia,

Lindas imagens!
