Pears , roquefort and almond tart

Some days we are so tired that the only things that we want are, take a shower and sleep. Is exactly what I want. This last week was an exhaustive marathon for me. I took out all my kitchen stuffs, empty drawers and move furniture. My kitchen remolding begins tomorrow. Yes, my friends. I promise that I be patient. So, I start to cook simple and quick meals with ingredients that I have in my fridge like this tart.

Pears, Roquefort and almonds tart

Roquefort, pears and hazelnut tarte


Ingredients

2 sheets frozen puff pastry

  • 4 shallots, chopped fine
  • 4 pears not peeled and fine sliced
  • 100g Roquefort (or another blue cheese) smashed
  • 50g almonds (sliced)
  • Butter

Method

  • Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).

  • Roll out the pastry and cut in medium size circles

  • Place circles of dough on baking sheet.

  • . Prick holes throughout pastry using a fork. Bake 10 minutes. Remove and cool on wire rack.
  • Cover the pastry with a fine layer of shallots

  • Pour the pears sliced and sprinkles with Roquefort and almonds

  • Pour small pieces of butter on top

  • Bake for 20 minutes or until gold. Accompanied with endive or lettuce salad

Rocket,nuts and pistachios savory cake

Savory cakes, here in Argentina, are not ordinary as in Brazil. The most Brazilian family has a good recipe, mostly done in a blender. So, I want to do something different

I was a little bit tiered of tarts and pies (remembering, at those moment I baked 8 pies and tarts….afff!!) and knowing that I had rocket in my fridge I began to search a recipe in my stuffs and I found this in La cuisine naturelle, a recipe compile edited to Manor La placette

. The cake was really good tasty and keeps fresh for several days.

Rocket , pistachio savory cake

Rocket, pistachios and nuts savory cake

  • 150g flour
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 Tsp (tea) baking power
  • 1 Tbs (coffee) salt
  • Pinch of nutmeg
  • 100g gruyere cheese (grated)
  • 100g rocket
  • 50g nuts
  • 50g pistachios
  • 12,5 cl milk
  • 8 cl olive oil

Method

  • Pre heat oven
  • Meanwhile
  • In a large bowl, mix flour, baking powder and salt. Add the eggs, milk and oil and whisk until the batter gets a smooth but thick texture, add grated gruyere
  • Cut the rocket, nuts and pistachios and add to the previous mix
  • Pour in cake pan, and bake for 30 , 35 minutes

Bolo salgado de Pistachios e nozes

Bolos salgado aqui, na Argentina, não são muito comuns como são no Brasil. Aonde existem varias receitas. Queria sair um pouco das tortas (lembrando, tinha assado 8 tartes ...Aff Estava cansada) e como tinha rúcula na geladeira pensei em fazer um bolo salgado. São ótimos, fáceis e rápidos de fazer Fui procurar alguma receita, mas quase todas que encontrei eram de liquidificador que não gosto muito. Depois de dar uma olhada em minhas coisas achei esta no livro La cuisine naturelle um apanhado de receitas editado para Manor-La Placette Ficou bem saborosa e se mantém fresca por alguns dias

  • 150 g de farinha
  • 3 ovos
  • 1 colher de chá de fermento químico em pó
  • 1 colher de café de sal
  • 1 pizca de noz moscada em pó
  • 100 g de gruyère ralado
  • 100 g de rúcula
  • 50 g de nozes
  • 50 g de pistaches
  • 12,5 cl de leite
  • 8 cl de azeite de oliva

Modo de fazer


• 1 Esquentar o forno a 180 graus

• 2 Misturar bem a farinha , os ovos, o óleo, o sal,o fermento químico e a noz moscada .Acrescentar o leite e o gruyere ralado.

• 3 Cortar a rúcula, as nozes e os pistaches e juntar a mistura anterior

• 4 Colocar em una forma anti aderente e lever ao forno por 30 a 35 minutos

Las tortas saladas no son tan comunes como lo son en Brasil, que se hacen bastante y hay un sinfín de recetas .Quería salir un poco de las tartas y como tenia recula en la heladera, pensé en hacer una torta salada con ellas. Pues son estupendas y muy fáciles de hacer Fui a buscar alguna receta. Pero casi todas las que encontré eran de licuadora y que no me gustan mucho. Después de buscar en mis cosas encontré esta en el libro La cuisine naturelle, un recopilado de recetas editadas para Manor - La placette. Quedo muy sabrosa y se mantiene fresca por varios días

Torta salada de rúcula, nueces y pistachos

  • 150 g de harina
  • 3 huevos
  • 1 cucharada de té de levadura química en polvo
  • 1 cucharada de café de sal
  • 1 pellizco de nuez moscada en polvo
  • 100g de queso gruyere rallado
  • 100g de rúcula
  • 50g de nueces
  • 50 g de pistachos
  • 12,5 cl de leite
  • 8 cl de aceite de oliva

Modo de hacer

  1. Calentar el horno a 180 grados
  2. Mezcle bien la harina, los huevos, el aceite, la sal, la levadura y la nuez moscada.
  3. Enseguida ponga la leche y el queso gruyere rallado.
  4. Cortar la rúcula, las nueces y los pistachos y juntarlos a la mezcla anterior

Poner en moldes antiadherentes y llevarlo al horno por 30 a 35 minutos

Ideas for brunch II Colored salmon canapés

As I comment previously. last Sunday I celebrate my husband's birthday I had luck because the wether was warm and sunny So I carry out my tables and my guest said the idea was wonderful and everybody enjoy the day, including me.

How the day was sunny inspired me to made a colorful decoration , including my canapé's tray,as you can check in the photo above

Canapes and figs with gorgonzola

I made this canapés the was basically dried figs and apples ,stuffed with gorgonzola or another blue cheese that you had in home.

You only must smash the cheese with a fork and pour a little bit cream cheese and fresh cream, Then you must cut in half lengthwise Important: The fruit that would be soften in mix of warm water and sweet white wine.Stuff the fruits and serve

For the beet colored salmon canapé

Pour the smoked salmon in China bowl. Watch the point would be on top. The best way that you can do is bending softly until the picks stay up. cover with grated row beet. Then , you must covered with wax paper and leave to refrigerate for few hours.Carefully remove the beet, and you will see that the salmon acquires a beautiful red hints color

Cut small pieces of bread and grease with butter . Pour a small piece of camembert or brie cheese over them and decorate with a piece in a rose shape. Serve and certainly your guest will love it

Idea for a Birthday brunch

Aniversario

I am planning my husband’s birthday. So, again I quite busy We decide that we didn’t make anything, because we thought that at this time our kitchen remolding begin just, maybe, dinner out But my husband’s family is huge as well friends. So, my husband decide on last Sunday, that will be a great idea make something In his words “something simple, like order pizza“But, I know myself and nothing is simple for me I can’t simply serve a few sandwiches and cupcakes. Or order pizza for my guest I refuse to do this.

At the same time that he said this to me I started to plan his birthday. I had just a few days to prepare all and in this moment of panic my mind was illuminated for a brilliant idea. (Thanks God) I would make a brunch

I like brunches because I can come up with a menu that requires very little effort on my part and because Sunday afternoon is a time when people are ready to relax and kick back. I’m going to tell you how I will plane do Sunday brunch and hopefully my ideas will help you. Then you can change things around to suit your tastes


I like to keep the brunch menu simple so that I can enjoy my guests. I planned to make assorted tarts, pies and savory cakes, as well. Fresh salad served in verrines (to add color).

I pretend offer some different kind of cheeses., canapés and fresh breads My choice for tarts was because you can prepare the day before you’re going to serve it, and refrigerate it overnight, or freeze it. In the morning before brunch, I simply have to bake it for an hour. I will served

For beverages, I pretend serve fresh fruits juice, iced tea water and soft drinks for the kids. We keep the fixings on hand in case someone wants to turn their orange juice into a mimosa or their tomato juice into a bloody Mary. Some cold sparkling wine will be in these selections, as well sangria too. Just before everyone leaves I’ll often serve dessert, I guess ice cream, unless my pastry tray contained and of course the cake and champagne.

My idea for decoration is keep it very simple. I want put a pretty tablecloth on my dining where I put the food and fresh and colorful flowers. The brunch will be serve buffet style and I set up a “help yourself” beverage station in small tables around the room and if not rain in tables in the garden.

I don’t plan any activities for brunch, though I do usually have some soft jazz and bossa nova playing in the background. This party is all about relaxing and catching up with relatives and friends we might not have seen in a while. Clean up is easy, and I often send leftovers home with guests. As you can see, a brunch is a party anyone can give. It requires little preparation (when you have a few guest, in my case I have 30) and simple foods work well.

Rabanadas e Pêssegos assados





Após cozinhar por uma semana sem parar para a ceia de Natal eu me sentia muito cansada, e com meu marido decidimos fazer uma pequeno jantar romântico só para nos dois. Assei um salmão e acompanhei com uma salada Cesar e um mousse de chocolate para a sobremesa
Mas tradições são tradições
E ontem como sempre eu comecei meu dia com rabanadas
E uma tradição de família, fazer rabanadas na primeira manha do ano. Não me perguntem por que, eu não saberia responder. Só sei que a minha bisavó já fazia para suas crianças, minha avó e logo minha mãe e irma, agora é minha vez.
Desta vez fiz com panettone e acompanhei com pêssegos assados.


4 fatias de panettone
2 gemas
1 pitada de canela
½ xícara de leite
1 colher de açúcar
1 colher de manteiga sem sal
Açúcar de confeiteiro


Em um bowl coloque os ovos o açúcar, o leite e a canela e misture bem todos os ingredientes
Coloque a manteiga em uma frigideira e espere derreter, enquanto isso passe uma fatia de panettone na mistura anterior e leve a frigideira em fogo médio, vire e quando estiver dourada dos dois lados passe para um prato. Repita a operação com as três fatias restantes

Pêssegos assados

3 pêssegos frescos
2 colheres de açúcar mascavo
1 colher de manteiga

Lave bem os pêssegos e corte de maneira longitudinal. Tire o caroço e leve a uma assadeira, polvilhe com açúcar e coloque pedacinhos de manteiga por cima da fruta.
Leve a forno médio por aproximadamente oito ou 10 minutos de cada lado. Sirva morno e se quiser polvilhe com pistaches

En Español, por favor


Después de cocinar sin parar por una semana para la cena de Navidad, me sentía muy cansad y con mi esposo arreglamos de hacer algo solo para los dos en una cena romántica. Hice apenas un salmón al horno acompañado por una ensalada Cesar y mousse e chocolate para el postre
Pero, como tradiciones son tradiciones, ayer empecé mi día con torrijas de panettone.

Es una tradición e familia hacer torrijas a la primera mañana del año. No me pregunten el porque, puesto que no sabría responderlo
Solo sé que ya mi bisabuela lo hacia para sus hijos , luego mi abuela y mi mama y ahora me toca a mi
Esta vez los hice con panettone y los acompañe con duraznos asados

4 fetas de panettone
2 yemas
1 pizca de canela
½ taza de leche
1 cucharada de azúcar
1 cucharada de manteca sin sal
Azúcar impalpable


En un bowl ponga los huevos, el azúcar, la leche y mezcle bien todos los ingredientes
Ponga la manteca en una sartén y espere que se derrita, mientras tanto pase una feta de panettone en la mezcla anterior y lleve a cocinar en temperatura mediana, de vuelta y cuando estén doradas de los dos lados, páselas a un plato. Repita la operación con las três fetas faltantes

Duraznos Asados

3 duraznos frescos
2 cucharadas de azúcar morena
1 cucharada de manteca

Lave bien los duraznos y corte de forma longitudinal. Saque el hueso y llévelos a una asadera, espolvoree con azúcar y ponga pedacitos de manteca por arriba de la fruta
Lleve al horno en temperatura mediana por aproximadamente ocho o 10 minutos de cada lado. Sirva los tibios y si desea espolvoree pistachos picados
