I wanted to make some snacks , something with autumn flavour. On my last visit to Chinatown, I bought candied ginger and had not used until yesterday.
I decided then, to bake this apple cake, because I'm still looking for the taste of ONE apple cake that I ate in college, is not the same,of course, but it was delicious, moist and spongy and I hope you enjoy
Ingredients
- 150 g butter
- 175g brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 2 tablespoons molasses
- 2 tablespoons chopped candied ginger
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- A pinch of salt
- 150 ml of milk
- 1 beaten egg
- 2 apples peeled, grated
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Method:
- Heat the oven at 170 ° C
- Grease and flour a 9x13-inch baking pan or spray with baking spray with flour.
- Melt the butter with sugar and molasses. Leave to cool
- Sift flour with baking powder, salt and baking soda
- Add the mixture of melted butter with the beaten egg and milk
- Mix well and put the grated apples and chopped ginger
- Bake for 35-40 minutes or until golden brown
- Makes 12 servings
